About the Role
Position Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving operational process improvements using the Lean/Six Sigma Manufacturing methodology managing Lean projects & Kaizen events across the Tropicale Foods manufacturing network. The individual will provide mentoring, coaching, and training as needed at the plant to support the use of the continuous improvements’ methodology and tools (DMAIC, Visual Management, Center-lining, Quick Changeover, Root Cause Analysis…etc.). The individual will also facilitate Waste Analysis activities at the manufacturing plants, inclusive, but not limited to: understanding losses in the plant, leading zero loss analysis initiatives, and managing the overall plant materials loss activities.
Responsibilities:
Identify the gaps between the financial and production plans and the actual results for each critical parameter (KPI) such as production volume, safety, quality, delivery, cost, efficiency, waste, overall effectiveness, etc.
Partner with the various departments in identifying and selecting enabler C.I. projects according to a higher return, shorter term and resource optimization criteria establishing the activities, cross functional teams, and timelines to hit the targets.
Lead the projects using Lead 6 sigma Manufacturing methodology and Kaizen events reporting green-red status monthly.
Function as a change agent, systematically driving use of lean manufacturing for continuous improvement and change throughout the plant.
Identify and deploy best practices within the plant and across different departments.
Work with key stake holders to develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide visibility into key supply chain metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making.
General
Must continuously challenge the status quo to drive culture change at the plants towards a methodical, data driven approach to problem solving with an emphasis on root cause problem solving and sustaining improvements.
Collaborating with people at all levels within the plant with varying levels of Lean Six Sigma experience.
Involved across all phases of Lean manufacturing projects including identification, selection, execution, and sustainment.
Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management certifications preferred.
3+ years of various manufacturing plant functions and cross functional operations experience.
Experience and passion for introducing new techniques (i.e., change agent)
Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and people skills
Strong problem-solving mindset
Proficient with creating flow charts and documenting business processes.
Analytical aptitude – ability to collect and analyze data and think analytically.
Ability to influence and drive change.

Demonstrated competency of Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodology
