About the Role
The Line Supervisor is responsible that all Prims information is entered correctly and on time in the system, they are responsible to ensure that all documentation is filled out correctly. The Line Supervisor will also work closely with the production supervisor to ensure employees and contract workers are following company guidelines for safety, quality, GMP, and housekeeping. The Line Supervisor will also help in achieving plant goals by keeping a "can-do", "make-it-happen" attitude. This is demonstrated by displaying the ability to use perseverance and initiative in order to ensure safety, quality, and Production. Responsible for all aspects of the production line assigned to, to include:
Responsibilities
Direct work on floor for assigned line.
Responsible for production efficiency on Line.
Responsible to drive all processes to help improve line performance.
Facilitate self directed work team.
Facilitate Improvement teams to drive line improvements.
Assign team members to machine centers.
Reassign team members as needed to optimize line performance.
Conduct training of team members.
Coordinate activities between production, QA, maintenance and the warehouse.
Conduct daily facility audits to ensure audit ready, safety and productivity.
Attend pre-shift meetings to inform team members of shift activities, schedule changes, new products, etc.
Contribute debrief to capture issues of the day.
Write work orders to ensure safety and mechanical problems are resolved.
Monitor quality check paperwork at each machine center to ensure quality checks are being performed properly and documented properly.
Ensure proper starts up procedures are followed.
Ensure proper shutdown procedures are followed.
Utilize CI resources to identify and resolve road blocks to success.
Complete efficiency boards.
Ensure all GMP and safety polices are adhered to.
Complete all shift paperwork, to include PRIMS
Facilitate package and container changeovers to ensure line comes back up on time and at rated speed.
Facilitate flavor changeovers.
Monitor raw materials to ensure line continues to run efficiently.
Work with production supervisor and other line supervisors to ensure all activities are properly coordinated.
Drive to reduce waste initiative.
Participate in safety investigations after an accident and give recommendations.
Audit SOP's.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to train on food safety, food quality, regulatory requirements, customer service and continuous improvement.
Intimate operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes;
In-depth knowledge in sanitation and cleaning processes;
Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule;
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
In depth understanding of established company values and strategy;
Must be forklift certified;
Basic understanding of computers;
Proficient in Microsoft Word, basic Excel, and Outlook;
Good oral and written communication skills;
Ability to add and utilize a calculator in order to determine avg. fill weights, production status, material, quantities, etc.;
Ability to interpret both written and verbal instructions; and
Able to meet physical demands in work environment as generally described below
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
