About the Role
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of production associates in processing materials and manufacturing products, with an emphasis on sanitation processes and practices. The Sanitation Supervisor leads production associates in their efforts to ensure the facility and its equipment are cleaned efficiently, safely and sanitized within Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines and waste is disposed in accordance with established plant and government environmental standards. The Sanitation Supervisor interacts with Sanitation, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and Operations staff to ensure the production of products meeting quality standards in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities:
Supervise team and participate in cleaning all facility equipment and building structures in accordance with established cleaning procedures;
Supervises sanitation employees to comply with all applicable safety laws and regulation, as well as Company safety policies, procedures and standards;
Organizes sanitation activities in a cost effective manner to meet all established performance guidelines;
Delegates, organize, and prioritize sanitation employee’s daily tasks;
Ensures consistent and fair application of company policies and procedures;
Leads team in fair and ethical manner;
Instills a culture of accountability within the sanitation team;
Operates, disassemble, clean and reassemble all the production equipment in a safe and timely manner;
Leads by example in attendance, safety, GMP’s quality of work, organization and follow through;
Make suggestions for continuous improvement opportunities;
Work closely with and effectively coordinate with production and maintenance to foster a team atmosphere;
Operates within a departmental budget for labor and supplies;
Adjust Sanitation Schedule as necessary to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation and provide proper feedback/data to support when items cannot be completed;
Supervises and manages activities directly related to the daily business and department needs;
Develops, analyzes, and delivers simple to complex information to direct reports;
Provide immediate supervision to a group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules;
Mentors and leads production associates;
Ensure associates are trained for and compliant with all applicable operations;
Assigns duties and operations based on daily department needs;
Ensures quality products are produced and department metrics are achieved;
Effectively communicates daily schedules, goals, quality issues/concerns between shifts to ensure expectations are met;
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action;
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings;
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
Safeguards and maintains company equipment and property, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE);
Ensures all areas are kept clean at all times;
Attends all company training sessions; and
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing or supervising employees in a manufacturing/production environment
Ability to train on food safety, food quality, regulatory requirements, customer service and continuous improvement.
Good work history and ability to learn
Minimum computer skills at intermediate level
Excellent written and verbal communication
Basic decision making and problem solving skills
Bilingual Spanish is a plus
Able to meet physical demands in work environment as generally described below
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 4-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
