About the Role

Position Overview:
Operate and maintain pasteurizer and other related equipment within production environment, with quality being the major concern. Contributes to overall department production goals, maintains a clean and safe work environment.

 Plan, schedule and coordinate pasteurizer production activities. 

• Operates and monitors processing HTST equipment • Works directly with production planning and materials management to assure production schedules are met. • Ensure all quality and regulatory standards, specification and policies are met or exceeded. • Pasteurizer verifies unit and homogenizer are running to legal regulation. • Closely monitor the ice cream production process and follow Standard Operating Procedures for  batching and processing products. • Ensure pasteurizing procedures are conducted in a safe and controlled environment. • Follow GMP’S. • Accurately prepare & maintain all Pasteurization documentation. • Monitor fats, total solids, allergen, and other related items as they associate with processing dairy  products. • Be able to calculate formulas to obtain correct products on a needed basis. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties. • Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP/COP & hand cleaning. • Responsible for setting up equipment for CIP • Safely handles all cleaning. • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities on improving production processes. • Operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as  they arise. Requirements • Must have a Pasteurization License. • Ability to operate HTST equipment • Must have experience operating CIP System and/or have knowledge of CIP system • 2-3 years’ experience in a food/beverage processing plant environment is a must. • Experienced at analyzing process data and equipment performance data to improve quality,  throughput, and troubleshoot. • Be able to effectively work in a team environment and communicate (verbal and written) with  people on a professional level. • Ability to work in a fast paced environment. • Must be able to do basic math, read and write.  • Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal). • Bilingual- Spanish is a plus EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or  equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Title: Pasteurizer Reports To: Operations Manager  Department: Production Exempt/ Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Food Safety & Quality Requirements/Responsibilities • Adheres to all Food Safety/Quality SOP’s  • Accurately completes required Food Safety & Quality Records • Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/ Quality issues to the Q.A. Manager and  Department Manager 

• Responsible for reporting any food safety concerns or tampering with product

Work Environment: Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment as part of the job requirements employee  may be exposed to work in a production setting and cold temperature at times.
